Who are we?

Hi! I'm Bio. Or Sammy. Or Sam, Samantha, Katie's Mom, Riley's Mom, Kevin's Wife, or whatever you want to call me.

Sewing is my creative outlet. I'm a married mom of two wonderful, yet chaotic children. My eldest is 19 and my youngest is 10, but they constantly keep me on my toes. Sewing is a way for me to escape from the day to day stress of life because it challenges me to constantly be learning and improving my techniques and I can get completely absorbed in the process. It requires precision which keeps me engaged, but also gives lots of space for creativity and personalization which I love.

When it comes to my passions I am trained as a microbiologist and am an avid lover of all things Science and the natural world. I've been roller skating for 8 years now and was a previous competitor and current referee at a local roller derby league. I'm a member and supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and am a vocal advocate for autistic and neurodivergent rights and acceptance.

I started sewing during the pandemic as a way to challenge myself to learn a new skill, as well as to feel like I was contributing to the public health efforts in my community. What started as a helpful distraction morphed into a full blown passion and a desire to express myself artistically through my fabric creations.

My favorite thing to sew is whatever the newest, hottest, and eye catching purse or wallet pattern is in the Indi pattern community. But really anything with a different shape or design that I can put together in a few hours while my son is at school will do. While you may see me sewing garments for myself or my kids on my social medias, I normally don't accept garment commissions or do alterations. And no, I will not hem your pants or skirt.

Thank you so much for supporting my art and being a part of my creative journey!
